Terms & Conditions
Last updated 31 October 2026
These terms apply whenever you use Xortal ("we", "us") to buy or sell tickets. Xortal is a ticketing platform: we sell tickets and manage entry on behalf of event organisers. Each event is organised and run by its organiser, who is named on the event page. Below are the terms for ticket buyers, then the terms for organisers, then general terms for everyone.
For ticket buyers
Your ticket
- Each QR code lets one person in, once. Anyone holding the QR can use it, so share it only with the person it's for.
- You can pass a ticket to someone in your group by sending them its QR, unless the event's rules say tickets can't be transferred.
- The price on the event page is the total you pay: taxes are included and there's no booking fee. Online payments go through Razorpay, and we never see your card or UPI details.
- When you buy a ticket, your agreement for the event itself is with its organiser. Xortal sells the ticket on the organiser's behalf.
Entry, ID and age
- Every event shows its age rule before you buy, for example "All ages" or "Age limit: 18+". Everyone in your booking must meet it.
- Carry a valid original government photo ID if the event has an age limit or its rules ask for one. Gate staff may check it.
- If you're under 18, a parent or guardian should book for you and accepts these terms on your behalf.
- Entry depends on a valid ticket, the event's age and entry rules, venue capacity and the venue's lawful rules. Security checks may take place where they are lawful and reasonable.
- If the event's rules give an entry time, arrive before it. Late entry can be refused when the event's rules say so.
Refunds, cancellations and postponements
- Cancelled event: every online ticket is refunded in full to the original payment method. You don't need to do anything. It usually arrives in 5–7 working days.
- Postponed event: your ticket stays valid for the new date. Can't make it? Email hello@xortal.net with your order number before the new date for a full refund.
- If we can't issue your ticket after you pay (for example, the last ticket sold during your payment), you're refunded automatically.
- Otherwise sales are final: we can't refund a ticket because you can't attend or your plans change.
- If you're refused entry for not meeting the event's published age or entry rules, or for unsafe or unlawful behaviour, you aren't automatically refunded. If you think you were refused unfairly, contact us and we'll look into it with the organiser.
- Tickets bought at the gate or issued directly by an organiser follow the same rules and are refunded by that organiser.
- None of this limits any right you have under Indian consumer law.
Changes to an event
- Artists, timings and venues can change. If an event is cancelled or postponed, we email ticket holders and show it on the event page.
- If another major change means you can no longer go, email hello@xortal.net with your order number. We'll review it with the organiser, in line with the law.
At the event
- Follow the venue's rules and staff instructions. Illegal substances and unlawful behaviour aren't allowed.
- Staff may refuse entry, or ask someone to leave, for a genuine safety, security or legal reason, or for breaking the event's published rules.
- Please take reasonable care of your own safety and belongings.
Who is responsible for what
- Xortal sells tickets, takes payments and provides the ticket check used at entry.
- The organiser runs the event: the venue, line-up, safety and security, medical cover, and the permits and licences it needs, including permission for the music and performances. Xortal doesn't own any artist's performance.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability, or any of your rights, that Indian law doesn't allow to be excluded or limited.
Event rules, updates and help
- Some events have their own entry rules. They're shown on the event page and at checkout, before you pay.
- If we update these terms, the new version applies to tickets bought after the change. It never takes away rights you already have.
- For help, refunds or complaints, see Contact & grievances or email hello@xortal.net
For organisers
- Before you publish, you sign the Xortal Organiser Agreement online (about a minute). It sets out fees, payouts, refunds and responsibilities in full; where it differs from these points, the agreement applies.
- You're responsible for your events, for your listings being accurate, and for every permission and licence your event needs (for example venue, police, music and liquor licences).
- Set each event's age rule correctly for your venue, its licences and the law where the event takes place.
- Set ticket prices that include GST and all other charges. Keep your business address, email and customer care number up to date. In Settings you choose which of them buyers can see; anything you hide stays private, and buyers reach you through Xortal support instead.
- Honour every ticket you sell. Tell buyers and Xortal straight away if your event is cancelled or postponed, using Event changes in your dashboard.
- You're responsible for taxes on your sales, for complying with the law, and for all activity in your account and by your staff logins.
- Xortal charges a commission on every paid ticket (online, at the gate and issued directly; complimentary tickets are free), at the rates shown in your dashboard when the ticket is sold. Where your dashboard shows it, a payment processing fee also applies to online sales. GST (currently 18%) is added to our fees as the law requires, and deducted with them from payouts. Rates can differ by sales channel. We email you whenever your fees change, and tickets already sold keep the terms they were sold at.
- Online ticket payments are collected by Xortal through Razorpay on your behalf. We pay your online ticket revenue, less our fees on all channels, refunds and any tax we must withhold, to your verified bank account after your event ends, on the schedule shown in your dashboard.
- We may hold a payout while we investigate fraud, a payment dispute (chargeback) or a cancelled event, and recover any amount a buyer's bank reverses after you were paid. Refunds of online payments are decided and made by Xortal.
- To the extent the law allows, our total liability to an organiser for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
General
- We may suspend accounts or take down event pages that are fraudulent, unlawful, infringe others' rights, or put buyers at risk.
- These terms are governed by the laws of India. Questions? Email hello@xortal.net
